Журнал «Самоуправление» – общественно-политическое, научно-образовательное издание, посвящённое проблемам становления и развития местного самоуправления в Российской Федерации.
Основная задача журнала – всесторонне анализировать и давать объективную оценку российской муниципальной реформы, научно обосновывать меры, необходимые для реального продвижения и укрепления местного самоуправления в Российской Федерации. В своей работе журнал опирается на солидную научную базу ведущих российских академий и университетов, а также на практический опыт широкого круга руководителей: от депутатов Государственной Думы РФ и глав регионов до руководителей российских муниципальных образований.
Журнал учреждён Вольным экономическим обществом Москвы и ООО «Арбат-Финанс» в партнёрстве с Российской академией народного хозяйства и государственной службы при Президенте РФ и физическими лицами, издается с 2006 года, тираж 10 000 экз.

The «Samoupravlenie» journal is the socio-political and scientifically-educational edition sanctified to the problems of becoming and development of local self-government in Russian Federation.
Our basic task – an all-round analysis and objective estimation of Russian municipal reform, scientifically to ground measures necessary for the real advancement and strengthening of local self-government in Russian Federation. In the work we lean on the considerable scientific base of the leading Russian academies and universities, and also on practical experience of wide circle of leaders: from the deputies of State Duma of the Russian Federation and heads of regions to the leaders of Russian municipalities.
The «Samoupravlenie» journal is founded by Free Economic Society of Moscow and LTD «Arbat-Finance» in partnership with the Russian Academy of National Economy and Government Service at President of Russian Federation and individuals, published from 2006, edition – 10 000 copies.

The «Samoupravlenie» journal included the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in the Russian list of peer-reviewed scientific journals, which should be published basic scientific results of dissertations for the degree of doctor and candidate of sciences.
